Summary:pgFouine 0.1 released
Project:pgFouine

Guillaume Smet is pleased to announce the first public version of pgFouine. pgFouine is a PostgreSQL log analyzer written in PHP. It can help you to determine which queries you should optimize to speed up your PostgreSQL based application.
pgFouine was specifically designed to parse big log files with a low memory footprint.

You can download it from http://pgfoundry.org/frs/?group_id=1000152 . A RPM package is also available.

A sample HTML report is available there: http://pgfouine.projects.postgresql.org/sample.html .

Current known limitations:
* pgFouine 0.1 only supports syslog PostgreSQL log at the moment;
* pgFouine 0.1 does not support the log prefix feature of PostgreSQL 8 and 8.1;
* there's no report for the errors yet.
These features will hopefully be implemented in pgFouine 0.2. You can find the comprehensive list of currently open items there: http://pgfoundry.org/tracker/?atid=621&group_id=1000152&func=browse .

pgFouine 0.1 parser is based on the PQA parser written by Tom Copeland and Thomas Favier so a great thanks to them.

Bug reports are very welcome: please provide an example log to reproduce your problem.

You can find more information on our website http://pgfouine.projects.postgresql.org/ .
