Hi Rodriguez,

OLEDB was written by myself as part of a project commissioned by Lingnu
Open Source Consulting. My time was paid for by a client that needed the
driver. I got the client's permission to open source the work done, and
have, indeed, been able to also accomodate some of the requests that
came from the general population of PgOleDb users pro-bono.

I'm afraid that things have been a little quiet of late. The original
client that sponsored the development is not interested in further
development, and Lingnu does not, currently, have the resources for
pro-bono development of the scale required for the missing features (and
we are, painfully, aware of features still missing).

As such, I'm afraid that the future holds on of the following options:
1. Someone other than Lingnu continues development. I have stated in the
past that I'll be happy to assist in any way I can to such an effort, be
it answering questions about the code/design, or commiting/giving commit
access to the CVS the new code produced. My only reservation was that
the code must come first, before I give anyone commit access.

2. A new sponsor is found. We have a couple of ideas of big companies
who MAY be willing to put money into developing a complete OLE DB
provider for Postgresql, but have not managed to actually secure any of
them. In the mean time, if you have a specific task that you want
PgOleDb to perform, and am willing to state how much money that task is
worth to you, we may be able to get particular problems solved
(bug-bounty style).

3. Lingnu MAY, eventually, find the time and the precedence to do
pro-bono development on PgOleDb again. No promises and no time frames.

I'm sorry such are the way things are. I really do wish PgOleDb could
have been more complete than it is, as I hate to see a job only
partially done.

Thanks,
          Shachar
