[Pgcluster-general] No replication after bringing back in node after changes made

I have a load balancer and replication server set up on one machine and 
two machines with the cluster db. If I take down one of the cluster db 
machines and bring it back up, the functionality of replication remains. 
However, if I take it down, make changes to the other db and then bring 
it back up, the functionality ceases - all actions I take in the 
recently renewed db only show up in the other db and the command keeps 
trying to function in the renewed one. If I do make changes to the 
cluster db while one machine is down, I have to take down the whole 
setup and start again. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time,
